function :I’m a business application project manager part of the IT holding of Pernod Ricard and specifically managing subjects around sales and CRM. Concretely, I’m in charge of working directly with all the commercial and CRM departments from our different affiliates in order to offer innovative solutions that will answer to their business needs.
Overall impression :I joined the Pernod Ricard group 18 months ago and the overall impression is very positive. I knew (as I already worked for Pernod Ricard during my consultant life), that it’s a very dynamic and decentralized company with excellent results in spite of the crises that we are all facing. Pernod Ricard enabled me to transition from a consulting job to a very practical and business oriented position.
Skills developped :Within Pernod Ricard, I have developed an entrepreneurship behavior while working on many innovative projects implying many different stakeholders in various affiliates. I have also learned a lot on the FMCG sector as well as on the commercial function, everything that is happening on the field, which gives a very concrete aspect to my job and to Pernod Ricard “heart of business”: selling products.
Strengths :Pernod Ricard is the worldwide co-leader of production and distribution of premium and prestige spirits.
According to me, the group has 3 major strengths:
- The brand portfolio, Pernod Ricard has many prestigious premium brands known worldwide in all the market categories (Ricard, Absolut, Jameson, Chivas, Beefeater, Martell, Mumm, Jacob’s Creek, Malibu, …). This gives a tremendous competitive edge in terms of presence of the brands on the different markets as well as in terms of diversity
- The main value of Pernod Ricard is conviviality. This value is everywhere and truly conveyed by all the Pernod Ricard employees. There are many examples of this conviviality spirit all around the world
- Decentralization: the Pernod Ricard model is based on a very strong culture of decentralization relying on 2 key pillars: brands and markets. The brands produce the products and the markets distribute them locally. This allows each market company to be very close to their local market in order to guarantee agility and a reduced time of reaction / adaptation to the changes in the market
What I enjoyed :From all that has been said above, all of these values totally fit with my profile. It’s a company where it’s very pleasant to work, the employee is at the heart of the system and all is put together so that the collaborators feel at home in Pernod Ricard. It’s also an international group that encourages and facilitates the mobility within the different entities and it’s not rare that some profiles have been working on all continents before their 40th birthday. Finally, 94% of our collaborators are proud to work for Pernod Ricard, it says it all.
